My Bio I am ( Mr. ) Gail Darling Age 61, born [b. 1937] and raised in Kern County. Married 37 years [m. 1961] to Shirley, we have three children and six grandchildren. We both, Shirley and I are descendants of Kern Co. pioneers. Shirley's family are those of the early French settlers who settled in the Greenhorn Mountains which are between Bakersfield and Lake Isabella to the West side of Kern River. Their names were and are, CAILLAIUD, BERNARD, SARRET. My family names are SHIRLEY, DARLING, HITCHCOCK and for the most part these were all mountain people as well. They settled in the Greenhorn's, Glennville ( my uncle and cousin own the origional Shirley ranch still ), Woody, and spread into Tulare County. Have been doing this as a hobby ( till it became an obsession ) for over 20 years now, [1978] but not until I purchased my own computer and got onto the internet did I find as much as am finding now. One great find was a cousin who also is a local Mr. Del Black of Tehachapi. We have been able to meet and correspond frequently and have found many new pieces of information thru out combined efforts. Should anyone need help that we can provide be sure and ask. My question is - are you of the Sarrett's that came from Gap, Alsace Lorraine, France? My wife's family came from there and the name is the same. I haven't seen that too often. They came to CA in the 1850's, settled the Greenhorn Mountains, in Kern Co., CA and the family still have the original ranches. Of course there are many stories. Just wondering if you are connected. Sarrett, Jr.	SURRITT, Henry C., Sr. Dated: 03 Jul 1996 Lakeside Memorial Lawn Cemetery ~ Folsom Lakeside Memorial Lawn Cemetery and Veterans Cemetery, Folsom, Sacrmento Co., California This cemetery is located on the highway between Highway 50 and the City of Folsom. The first 185 names were copied in 1969 and at that time, a large portion of the markers had tall grass growing around them and there was evidence that there had been animals in the area. Many markers were very old and some were broken. The information from the remainder of the markers was copied in 1973 and the cemetery at that time had been cleaned well and some graves were in the process of being moved.      Henry C. My husband is Warren Dale Surrett, grandson of Lonnie Surrett, son of Henry Allen Surrett & Susannah Emaline Summer(s). On your site I see that you don't have any thing in his line past him. I can fill this part in for you. Lonnie Surrett married Ethel Davis (I am having trouble tracing her past her father John Davis. I have seen photos of him and know he was probably full native american. Ethel would not claim this.) Lonnie & Ethel had one son Lonnie Earl Surrett b. June 23,1912 & is still living (Anderson, Ca.)
