The following "image" created by me is not a copy of the original certificate. It is a reproduction, as close as I can remember, of my paternal grandmother's baptismal entry in the "Registro de Bautismos" for Nuestra Seņora del Carmen in Rio Grande.

The font used closely resembles the handwriting I saw when reviewing the books at the Archdiocese of San Juan. Please note that from this certificate I was able to get my great-grandparent's names as well as the names of my set of 2nd great-grandparents!

En esta Santa Parroquia de Nuestra Seņora del Carmen de Rio Grande dia viente y seis de Mayo de mil ocho sientos setenta y dos(e?), yo el in__raoeri cura parroco Don Juan Bonet, bautice solemnemente puse oleo crisma y nombre Barbara a una niņa que nacio dia uno de Diciembre hija legitima de Don Jose Vivas y Doņa Ubaldina Quiņones Abuelos Paternos Don Bibiano Vivas y Doņa Maria de Celedonia Monge. Abuelos Maternos Don Benito Quiņones y Doņa Maria Correa. Fueron sus padrinos Don Juan Prado y Doņa Maria Celedonia Monge a quienes adverti el parentesco espiritual y obligaciones de que doy fe.
