State of Tennessee, Sumner County - In the name of God Amen. I Elizabeth House of the County & State aforesaid being in my perfect mind & memory doth appoint this my last Will & Testament & first of all recommend my soul to God who gave it & my body to the dust from whence it came. I give and bequeath to my Grand daughter Polly Williamson Ax um daughter of my daughter Sarah Shote a Negro girl named Charlotte the daughter of my Negro woman Rachel. I give & bequeath unto my Grandson Elias Briant Axum a Negro boy named Clinton (son of the said Rachel) I give & bequeath unto my Grandson William Wilkerson Axum a Negro boy named Berry son of the said Rachel & I do hereby give all the children that may be born of the body of the said Rachel during my natural life to be equally divided between my five children to wit: Micajah House, John House, Jacob House, Sarah Shote, Patty Axum and I do further appoint my trusty friend James Gwin to be my Executor to this my last Will & Testament. State of Tennessee - Sumner County Court May Term 1823 - The last Will & Testament of Elizabeth House dec'd was exhibited in open Court for probate & was duly proved by the oaths of James Gwin & Samuel Gwin two of the subscribing witnesses thereto & ordered to be recorded.
