In the name of God Amen. I David Hardy Rickman of the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee being weak in body but of sound memory and mind blessed be God for the same do this 16th day of May
in the year of eighteen hundred and twenty two, make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following. I will and bequeath unto my beloved wife Peggy Rickman, all my household and kitchen furniture of every description. I also further bequeath unto my beloved wife Peggy Rickman my bay mare, saddle and bridle, also one choice cow and calf, and such hogs out of my stock of hogs as my executor hereunto named shall think she ought to keep. I further will that my land shall be sold at such time and place as my executor hereafter mentioned shall think proper on a credit of one two and three years, and the proceeds of said sale of land to be divided equally between my beloved wife Peggy Rickman and my daughter Malinda Elvira Rickman and my daughter Polly Ann Rickman. I further will that the remainder of my property shall be sold and a credit of twelve months, and the proceeds of said sales of property to be divided equally between my beloved wife Peggy Rickman, my daughter Malinda Elvira Rickman and my daughter Polly Ann Rickman, I further will that my executor hereafter named shall manage and dispose of the present crop now growing as they may think most beneficial and advantageous for my family. I appoint and nominate my brother Thomas Rickman and my brother in law William Henry executors to this my last will and Testament. I further nominate and appoint my beloved wife Peggy Rickman, my brother Thomas Rickman and my brother in law Moses H. Henry Guardians to my daughters Malinda Elvira Rickman and Polly Ann Rickman. In witness whereof I the said David Hardy Rickman have to this my last Will and Testament, set my hand and seal this day and year above written. David Hardy (his mark) Rickman

Will and Testament, in the presence of us who were present at the signing and sealing thereof.

The last Will and Testament of David Hardy Rickman was produced in Court and duly proved by Benjamin S. Harper, William P. Cramer subscribing witnesses thereto and Thompson Thomas Rickman, and William Henry Executors therein named appeared in Court and qualified as such, and entered into bond with Moses Henry and John Mills their security in the penalty of two thousand dollars conditioned as the law directs.
