Know all ye to whom these presents may come Greeting, that I Peggy Carothers of Sumner County State of Tennessee, being now in a low state of health, and knowing the uncertainty of life, being in my perfect reason, do now make and ordain this my last will and testament.

First: I give and bequeath to my brother Ezekiel Carothers, all my right title and claim to my portion of land when divided, let it be more or less.

Secondly: I give and bequeath to Franky Patton one bed together with the curtains belonging to the same, provided she remains with my sister Sally until she becomes of age otherwise the above said bed and curtains I give and bequeath to my sister Sally.

Made this twenty fourth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fourteen in the presence of:

State of Tennessee - Sumner County Court November Term 1814. The last will and testament of Peggy Carothers, dec'd, was exhibited in Court for probate and the same duly proved by the oaths of Daniel J. Green and David Wilson subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be registered.
