LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF ARTHUR E. GARRISON
I, Arthur E. Garrison, of Sumner County, State of Tennessee, being of sound mind and disposing memory, aware of the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death, do hereby make and publish this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time made.
I direct that all my just debts, including funeral expenses and the expenses of administration, be paid by my executrix hereinafter named, out of the first funds coming into her hands.
I give, devise and bequeath to my daughter, Wilda Jane Garrison Blackmore, all the property of which I may die siezed and possessed, real, personal and mixed, and wheresoever situated, to be hers absolutely to have and to hold forever.
I hereby nominate and appoint Wilda Jane Blackmore the sole executrix of this my last will and testament and she shall not be required to make bond as such.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand at Gallatin, Tennessee, this the 30th day of November, 1948.

Signed, published and declared by the said Arthur E. Garrison, the testator, as and for his last will and testament, in the presence of the undersigned, who, at her request and in his sight and presence and in the sight and presence of each other, all three being together at the same time, have subscribed our names hereto as attesting witnesses, this the 30th day of November, 1948.

PROBATE OF LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF ARTHUR E. GARRISON, DECEASED
BE IT REMEMBERED, that on this 13th day of May, 1954 before the Honorable C. D. Key, Chairman, of the County Court of Sumner County, Tennessee, Wilda Jane Garrison Blackmore produced in open Court a typewritten paper purporting to be the last will and testament of Inez M. Garrison, lately deceased, bearing date November 30th, 1948, having the name of Arthur E. Garrison signed thereto and being subscribed by Melba J. Langford and Elizabeth Doubleday, as attesting witnesses, and moved the court that the same be admitted to probate and record as the last will and testament of the said Arthur E. Garrison, deceased, and it appearing to the Court from the testimony of Melba J. Langford and Elizabeth Doubleday, two of the attesting witnesses, that said typewritten paper was written in the life time of the said Arthur E. Garrison and signed by him and subscribed in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other by the said Melba J. Langford and Elizabeth Doubleday and in the presence of each other as attesting witnesses, and that said instrument was executed by Arthur E. Garrison on the day it bears date as and for his last will and testament and that he was at the time of sound mind and disposing memory and was more than twenty-one years of age; and it further appearing that the said Arthur E. Garrison lately died in Sumner County, Tennessee, and that her usual place of residence at the time of her death was in said County it is so adjudged.
And it is further adjudged and declared by the Court that said instrument is the true, whole and last will and testament of the said Arthur E. Garrison deceased and the same is hereby admitted to probate as such; and the Clerk is directed to file and record the same and the said Wilda Jane Garrison Blackmore named as executrix of said will appeared in open Court and accepted said appointment and being excused under the terms of said will from giving bond was duly qualified as such executrix as the law directs and letters testamentary order issued to her by the Clerk of the Court.
Crestview Memorial Park Cemetery tombstone inscription - Arthur Ernest Garrison, 1876 - 1954. The Descendants of John Garrison of Sumner County, Tennessee by Lloyd R. Garrison - Arthur Ernest Garrison, b 10 February 1876, d 11 May 1954, son of Alexander Wesley Garrison and Eliza Jane Anderson. He married Inez Maude Petrie in Cortland, New York on 7 March 1907. Arthur was the owner of a 210 acre estate in Sumner County called Garrisonia. Arthur and Inez had two children: Barnard Wesley Garrison, b 14 September 1908 in Sumner County, Tennessee, d 10 December 1928 while a student at the University of Tennessee. Burial Crestview Memorial Park. Daughter Wilda Garrison was b 7 March 1910 in Sumner County. She married William Harold Blackmore in Sumner County on 9 June 1931. This marriage ended in divorce on 9 August 1941. See Will of Inez M. Garrison.
