Annual report by Jos. Smith agt. For Sumner Poor House. To the worshipful County Court of Sumner The amount of expenses that accrued from the 1st day of January 1843 up to the first of Jany 1844 also the standing and conditions of said institution.

The number of inmates on hand the first day of Jany 1844. Fourteen. Six males & Eight Females.

Darcas Carman 28 years Old. Deformed
Rhoda Arnold 86 years Old past work
Nancy Black 44 years Old, entirely Helpless
Maria Black 21 years Old, a nurse for her mother
Lucinda Bates 40 years old can work
Almarinda Bates 3 years old.
Reubin Forester 55 years Old. Able to work a little
Willis Hall 77 years Old past work
George Harpow 55 years Old, quite a good hand to work.
Negro Thamar about 64 years Old, hearty but blind

On hand the 1 day of Jany. 1844. One horse. 6 head of cattle. 21 head hogs. 8 Feather Beds. &c. Raised on the farm the year 1843 about 75 or 80 Barrels Corn 13 or 14 hundred pounds of Pork & 30 Bushels wheat with other crops sufficient to support the place.

One death during the year. Richd Rose.
