Rev. James Halsey Dashwood

Rev. James Halsey Dashwood (24 March 1829 - 20 March 1912) married many folks from Simpson, Sumner, and Robertson Counties.  He was born in England, son of William Halsey and Eleanor Dashwood.  On 1 January 1857, in Middlesex, England, he married a widow, Anne Smith,  (1827 - 1903) dau of Thomas Woodrow.  In 1858, James and Anne departed Liverpool, England aboard the Benjamin Adams and arrived in New York on 29 May 1858, with two young children.  One was presumably a child of from Anne's first marriage.  By 1860, they had settled in Franklin, Simpson County, Ky.  James tried his hand at several different occupations before settling on undertaking.  James and Anne are both buried in the Green Lawn Cemetery in Franklin, Ky.
