Albert Hester and Myrtle Helen Gammon Gregory

Hester Gregory playing the fiddle that belonged to his great-grandfather, John Gregory. His father, Haywood Gregory, and grandfather, George Dallas Gregory, also played the same fiddle.

The Hester Gregory family lived in and around Gallatin, Tennessee until October of 1951. In 1951, they moved to Indianapolis, IN and Hester went to work for Allison's, a division of General Motors. Myrtle worked at several places including the Borden Milk Co. and L. S. Ayre's Department Store. They are currently retired and living in Indianapolis, but they own a farm in Gallatin. Hester plays a Fiddle and played for a radio station WHIN, Gallatin from 1948-1951. After coming to Indianapolis, he continued to play with various musical groups. The Indianapolis Star Magazine featured one of his groups and did a speacial article including Hester. The Fiddle shown in the article belonged to Hester's great-grandfather.
