Approximately 100 descendants of James and Francis Gilliam gathered at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery on Saturday, May 28, 2005. Willard J. Blankenship, M. D. dressed in an authentic American Revolutionary Marine uniform and Larry Gates represented General Patton. Both did stirring renditions of the period as a memorial to James Gilliam as well as all soldiers both past and present. Gene Wright Brown was the Flag Bearer. There were representatives from the DAR and Annice Conner, Regent DAR. Nora Wiley played TAPS for the attendees in the cemetery. There were descendants from the surrounding states and communities that represented 7 generations of James Gilliam relatives. More Gilliam Reunion Photos.
