James Arthur Short was the son of Robert Wilson Short and Sarah Elizabeth Lamberth. He was born in Sumner County, Tn. 25 October 1883 and died in Davidson County before 1930. He married Missie Belle White, dau of John W. White and Harriet V. Lamberth. (Harriet Lamberth was Sarah Elizabeth Lamberth's half sister. John W. White was Robert Wilson Short's first cousins.)
