Miss Martha Jean Curtis
Miss Martha Jean Curtis, aged 15 years, died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Booker Curtis, in Lafayette about two thirty o'clock Friday afternoon, following an illness of many months from Bright's disease. In spite of hospital treatment in Scottsville and Nashville, she grew worse until the end. Surviving are her father and mother, one sister, Ann Curtis, residing with her parents; and one grandmother, Mrs. J. A. Fuqua, of Lafayette. Burial was made about three o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Drury Cemetery, following funeral services conducted by Elder N. C. Fuqua, a relative of the family. Martha Jean was a quiet, home-loving girl devoted to her parents, sister and other loved ones. Her early death occasioned many expressions of deep regret.
