Robert Rickman To William Harper, 1819

This Indenture made this 18th day of October in the year of Our Lord Eighteen Hundred and Nineteen, between Robert Rickman of the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee of the one part and William Harper of the County and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said Robert Rickman for and in consideration of the sum of Seven Hundred and Twenty Five dollars to him in hand paid by the said William Harper the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath and by these presents doth covenant bargain sell alienate en-feeoff and confirm unto the said William Harper his heirs and assigns forever, a certain tract or parcel of land containing Sixty Six acres by survey calculate lying and being in the County & State aforesaid and on the Waters of Goose Creek and bounded as follows (viz) Beginning at a Hickory and Hornbeam on Nathan Rickman's West boundary line; thence South one hundred and thirty poles to three Sugar trees; thence West Seventy eight poles to an Elm Hackberry and Chinquapin oak ; thence North one hundred and forty seven poles to two Horn Beams & box elder; thence with the meanders of the branch to the beginning with all and singular the woods, waters, profits, improvements, commodities, and appurtenances whatsoever, to the said land belonging or in anywise appertaining. To have and to hold the said Sixty Six acres of land with the appurtenances unto the said William Harper his heirs and assigns forever, and I do covenant and agree to and with the said William Harper that I will forever warrant and defend the said Sixty Six acres of land with the appurtenances unto him the said William Harper his heirs executors or all ministrations forever from myself my heirs and from the lawful title or demand of all and every other person or persons whatsoever. State of Tennessee, Sumner County Court November Term 1819. This Deed of Bargain & Sale between Robert Rickman of the one part and William Harper of the other part for 66 acres of land was duly acknowledged in open Court by the said Robert Rickman the bargainor & ordered to be registered.
