This Indenture made and entered into this third day of April one thousand eight hundred and thirty between Sarah Perry of the one part and Norfleet Perry of the other part, both of the County of Sumner, Witnesseth that I the said Sarah hath this day for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars in hand paid by the said Norfleet the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged bargained, sold aliened delivered and confirmed and by these presents do bargain sell alien deliver and confirm unto the said Norfleet his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being on the waters of Madison Creek in the County and state aforesaid butted and bounded as follows. Viz, Beginning where the upper Gallatin (Nashville marked through.) Road crosses the Creek of the of the Long Hollow on John P. Hogan's corner running N 36 W thirty eight poles to a stake; thence South 51 degrees West one hundred and two poles to a Beech in Norfleet Perry's line; thence North with said Perry's line one hundred and sixty nine poles to a beech; thence East one hundred and twenty poles to a small ash and hickory on the side of a large hill; thence South with the old one hundred and twenty poles crossing the big road to a sugar tree and beech in the Long Hollow on the side of a hill opposite Caswell Smith's house; thence S 45 West fourteen and a half poles to the beginning, containing ninety seven acres be the same more or less, to have and to hold and I the said Sarah do hereby covenant and agree to and with the said Norfleet Perry and his heirs for myself my heirs do warrant and forever defend from myself my heirs and from all person or persons whatsoever lawfully claiming the same to him the said Norfleet and his heirs forever. State of Tennessee, Sumner County Court May Term 1830 - This Deed of Bargain and Sale from Sarah Perry to Norfleet Perry for ninety seven acres of land was duly proved in open court by the oaths of John P. Hogan & Robert Patton two of the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be registered.
