Know all men by these presents that we Sally Perry and Thomas Perry have this day appointed and by these presents do appoint F. M. Morrison our lawful agent and attorney in fact to sell and carry a certain negro girl named Mary, aged about eight years, and we do by these present bind ourselves to ratify and confirm all the acts of said F. M. Morrison in the premises in as full and ample a manner as if we were ourselves present. In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals this May 21st 1851. State of Tennessee, Sumner County - Personally appeared before me John L. Bugg, Clerk of said County Court of said County, Thomas Perry & Sally Perry the bargainors with whom I am personally acquainted, and who acknowledged that they executed the within Power of Attorney and for the purposes therein contained. Also personally appeared before me Sally Perry separate and apart from her husband the said Thomas Perry who acknowledged the execution of the same to have been done by her freely, voluntarily, and understandingly without compulsion or restraint from her said husband and for the purposes therein contained. Witness my hand at office this 24th of July 1851. John L. Bugg, Clerk
