L. B. Moody to Walter Wilkerson, 1899

I, L. B. Moody have this day and date bargained, sold, and do hereby transfer and convey to Walter Wilkerson for and in the consideration of fifty dollars cash in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the balance the said Wilkerson has this day executed his note for twenty dollars due Oct 8th, 1898 and one for twenty dollars due Oct 8th, 1899 both interest from date, the following described tract of land lying in the State of Tennessee Sumner County, District 11. Beginning at a rock ash and horn beam pointers; thence S. 61 W. 61 poles to a small white oak on Robert Miller's line passing a beach marked; thence S. 20 E. 21 poles to a rock Robert Miller's corner; thence S. 86 W. 15 poles to an Elm on a bluff; thence down the branch S. 22 3/4 E. 32 poles to a rock below the School House; thence S. 89 E. 67 poles 5 lk. to a stake Sassafras pointers; thence N. 10 E. 84 poles to the beginning containing 29 1/2 acres. To have and to hold to the said Wilkerson, the above described tract or parcel of land with all the appurtenances belonging thereto. I covenant with the said Wilkerson that I am lawful seized of said tract of land and that I have a good right to convey it, and further that the same is unencumbered. I bind myself, heirs, and legal representatives to forever warrant and defend the right and title of said land against the lawful claims of all persons whatever.
