Dempsey Moore To John & James McKnight, 1807

This indenture made this twenty third day of March One Thousand Eight Hundred and Seven, Between Dempsey Moore of the County of Sumner and the State of Tennessee of the one part, and John and James McKnight of the County of Augusta State of Virginia of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Dempsey Moore of the County and State aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of Six Hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid or secured have granted bargained sold conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell convey and confirm to the said John and James McKnight their heirs and assigns forever a certain lot of land situate lying and being in the South East square of the town of Gallatin in the County aforesaid known in the plat of said Town by No. 3 bounded by Main Street on the North, by lot No. 11 on the South by No.4 on the East, and by No.2 on the West, containing sixty poles of land more or less. To have and to hold the above described lot or parcel of land with all and singular privileges hereditaments appurtenances to the said lot belonging or in any wise to the said John and James McKnight their heirs and assigns forever against the legal Title claim or demand of him the said Dempsey Moore or any other person or persons do and will by these presents warrant and forever defend.
