This Indenture made and entered into this the Sixth of February eighteen hundred & thirty six between Dudley E. McKendree and James McKendree both of the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee of the one part and Silas Fulgum of the County and state aforesaid witnesseth that the sd McKendrees hath for and in consideration of the sum of seventy five dollars to them in hand the reception where of is hereby acknowledged hath this day bargained and sold unto the sd Fulgum a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County & state aforesaid and on the waters of Summerles? branch of the Red River and adjoining the lands of Lesley Peak and bounded as follows (viz) Beginning on a poste oak on the south boundary of sd Peakes tract and the N.E. Corner of a tract where on John Grainger now lives thence south with said Graingers line one hundred poles to a hickory thence east eighty poles to a black oak thence north one hundred poles to a black Jack thence eighty poles to the Beginning. Containing fifty acres by survey be the same more or less and the sd McKendrees doth forever warrant the right of sd land with all its appurtenances to the sd Fulgum and his heirs forever free from them their heirs and executers and all and every other Legal Claim or Claimant forever in Testimony where of they have this day and date above written set their hand and affixed their seals in the presents of

Deed of bargain & sale from Dudley E. McKendree and James McKendree to Silas Fulgum for fifty acres of land was proven in open court by the oath of Jacob Beason in of the subscribing witnesses thereto & ordered to be registered.

The within deed of bargain and sale from Dudley E. McKendree and James McKendree to Silas Fulgum for fifty acres of land was duly proved by the oath of Allen Groves and of the subscribing witnesses there to this 22nd May 1837.
