Daniel and Milly McConnell plan to leave Sumner County, Tennessee to begin a new life in Illinois and sold their property on Little Goose Creek for $1,065 to John Sanders on October 25, 1828. Daniel also executed an addendum to his Last Will and Testament on the very same day:
This Indenture made this the 25th day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight, between Daniel McConnell of Sumner County and State of Tennessee of the one part and John Sanders of the County and State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Daniel McConnell for and in consideration of the sum of one (hundred - crossed out) thousand and sixty five dollars in hand paid by the said John Sanders the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained sold aliened conveyed and confirmed unto the said John Sanders his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and seventy-seven acres one half and five poles situate lying and being in the County of Sumner on the waters of Goose Creek Beginning at a stake near a black walnut stump in the west boundary of Thomas Donohos large survey, running thence west 248 poles to a large white oak in James Grahams East boundary, thence North 106 poles to a beech in the South boundary of Charles Dixons survey, thence North 88 degrees East with said line 16 poles North 84 degrees East 16 poles South 86 degrees East 18 poles North 87 degrees east 196 poles to a large beech in said Dixons line, thence South with Gomery McConnells line 124 poles to the Beginning. To have and to hold the aforesaid land with all and singular the rights benefits and profits emoluments hereditaments and appurtenances in and to the same belonging and in anywise appertaining, to the only proper use benefit and behoof of him the said John Sanders his heirs and assigns forever and the said Daniel McConnell for himself and (assigns - crossed out) Executors Administrators and assigns do warrant and agree to and with the said John Sanders his heirs and assigns that the before recited land and bargained premises he will warrant and forever defend against the right title and interest of all and every person or persons whatsoever, in witness whereof the said Daniel McConnell hath set his hand hereunto and seal the day and year above written. Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of, intestined? before the assignment.

This deed of bargain and sale from Daniel McConnell to John Sanders for one hundred and seventy seven and one half poles acres and five poles of land was duly acknowledged in open Court by the Bargainor and ordered to be registered.
