State of Tennessee } For and in consideration of ninety
dollars to us in hand paid
Sumner County } the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, we Joseph H. Kelly and wife A. C. Kelly, W. C. Williams & wife M. J. Williams T. J. Culbreath have this day bargained sold released and do hereby transfer and convey unto J. M. Smart one undivided interest in a certain tract or parcel of land known as the J. R. Culbreath tract Situated lying and being in the 16th Civil District of the aforesaid county and State and is adjoining the lands of the following named parties, on the West by W. D. Griffin and Mrs. E. Rays, on the South by Erby Hudson and estimated at one hundred acres be the Same more or less, to have and to hold to the said J. M. Smart his heirs and assigns forever. We covenant with the said Smart that we are lawfully seized of said interest in said lands, and that the same is unencumbered and that the legal title is in us and that we will warrant and forever defend the title in said land to the said J. M. Smart his heirs and personal representatives, against the legal claimes of any person whatever. In testimony of which we set our hands and affix our seals on this 24th day of Sept A. D. 1883.

Culbreath bargainors with whom I am personally acquainted who upon oath acknowledged the Execution of this annexed deed for the purposes therein contained. Sumner County } A. C. Kelly wife of J. H. Kelly, and M. J. Williams wife of W. C. Williams and having by virtue of the authority in me vested been examined privately and apart from their said husbands and they having acknowledged the due execution of the annexed deed by them freely voluntarily and understandingly, without compulsion or constraint by the said husbands and for the purposes therein contained the same is therefore certified.
