Sumner County } Know all men by these presents
that we J. D. Johnson and wife M. E. Johnson for in consideration of Sixty
two Dollars and Eighty cents ($62.80) to us in hand paid have this day bargained,
Sold and released and do by these presents convey unto W. T. McGlothlin a
certain tract or parcel of land, Situated lying and being in the 16th Civil
District of the aforesaid County and State and bounded as follows:
Beginning on a planted Stone South west corner of the land of Wm. Johnson
Decd. in the mouth of lane, thence N 2 1/2 degrees E 29 7/10 poles to a black
Oak in said Johnson line, thence west 2 1/2 degrees 29 poles to a rock, thence
S 1 degree W 38 8/10 poles to a Dead black jack with post oak pointer in
mouth of lane, thence East _ degrees N 29 7/10 poles to the Beginning containing
six acres one rood and five poles (6 A - 1 R -5 P) be same more or less to
have and to hold to the said W. T. McGlothlin and his Representatives forever.
We further covenant with the said W. T. McGlothlin that we are lawfully
seized of said land that it is not encumbered and that we have a legal right
to convey it and that we will warrant and forever defend the title of said
land to the said W. T. McGlothlin against the lawful claims of any person
whatsoever. In testimony of which we set our hands and affix our seals
on this 5th day of Oct. A. D. 1882.

of the authority in me vested been
examined privately and apart from her said husband and she having acknowledged
the due execution of the annexed deed by her freely, voluntarily and
understandingly without compulsion or constraint by her said husband and
for the purposes therein contained the same is therefore certified.
