This indenture made and entered into this second day of March in the year
of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred and twenty seven between Jesse Garrett
of the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee of the one part and George
R. Dismukes of the County of Davidson and State aforesaid of the other part.
Witnesseth that the said Jesse Garrett for and in consideration of
the Sum of Two thousand dollars to him in hand paid by the said George R.
the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold and by
these presents bargain sell and convey to said George R. Dismukes a certain
tract or parcel of land in the County of Sumner and State aforesaid situated
lying and being as follows, Beginning at the mouth of Manskers Creek runs
up said Creek with its meanders John Rules Corner thence east with said Ruyles
line two hundred and thirty poles to a hickory and elm, thence South seven
and a half degrees West one hundred and forty nine poles to a white oak on
the Mery? Branch; thence down the branch to its mouth, thence down Cumberland
River to the Beginning. Containing One hundred and sixty nine acres
and a half be the same more or less. To have and to hold the before
described premises together with all its ways water courses etc. and the
said Garrett doth warrant and agree with the said George R. his heirs
and assigns that he will forever warrant and defend the same free from the
challenge claim or demand of himself heirs and of all and every other person
or persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof he hath hereunto set his
hand and affixed his Seal the day and year above written. Signed sealed

Deed of bargain and Sale from Jesse Garrett to George R. Dismukes for one
hundred and sixty nine and a half acres of land was duly proved in Open Court
by the oath of Drury Scruggs and E. E. Dismukes the subscribing witnesses
thereto and ordered to be Registered. A Copy Test
