Know All men by these presents that whereas I William McKendree of Sumner County of the State of Tennessee am seized in fee simple of and in certain tracts or parcels of lands the first tract containing one hundred acres lying in the Waters of Red River in the County & state aforesaid beginning on Eli Stalcups West boundary line & bounded by Stalcups, McKindries, & J.W. Harrison lines. the second tract or parcel of land containing fifty acres lying on the Waters of Red River & county and state aforesaid beginning on Eli Stalcups North boundary line and bounded by said Stalcups, Allen Groves & McKindries lines. Now know ye that for diver considerations we hereunto ____ing have made constituted and appointed and by these presents do make constitute & appoint Thomas L. Douglass of the County of Davidson & state aforesaid my true and lawfull Attorney for me and in my name to convey by deed of bargain and full the aforesaid tracts or parcels of land (viz) the first tract containing one hundred acres lying and being as aforesaid to James McKendrie, Francis, & Nancy Dudley McKendrey their heirs & assigns and further to do and Execute all and everything necessary and needful to be done concerning the premises in the manner above described in as full and ample a manner to all interests and purposes as I myself could do were I personally present hereby satisfying confirming and allowing all whatsoever my said Attorney shall lawfully do in and about the premises by virtue of these presents.

In witness whereunto I have set my hand and affixed my seal this 21st day of Oct in the year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fourteen & 39th of American Independence as witness my hand and seal.
