George W. Hughes To Edward L. Stone -Deed - 5 Acres

State of Tennessee, Sumner County - For and in consideration of the seventy five dollars to me in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. I have this day bargained and sold and do by these presents convey unto Edward L. Stone a certain parcel or tract of land in the county and state above mentioned whereas I now live and joining Jo Stanfield, Robert Wright, and others and containing five acres. Beginning at a stake in Robert Wright's S boundary line, running thence South 28 poles and 12 links to B. Glen's West boundary line to a stake in said line; thence East 23 poles and 12 links to a stake; thence North 28 poles and 12 links to a stake in Robert Wright's line; thence West 28 poles and 12 links to the beginning. I bind myself, my heirs, and convey to said E. L. Stone to warrant & defend the title of the above described land to him the said E. L. Stone from the lawful claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatever. Given under my hand and seal this 21st of February 1854. George W. Hughs (Seal)

State of Tennessee, Sumner County - Personally appeared before me John L. Bugg, Clerk of the County Court of said county, James M. Stone & W. H. Dickerson subscribing witnesses to the foregoing deed who being first sworn depose and say that they are personally acquainted with G. W. Hughs the bargainer & that he acknowledged the execution of the same in their presence to be his act & deed upon the day it bears date & for the purposes therein contained. Witness my hand at office this 21st day of February 1854. John L. Bugg, Clerk
