H. D. Thurmond To William J. Reece, 1846

This indenture made the 17th day of November 1846 between H. D. Thurmond of the County of Sumner & State of Tennessee of the one part & William J. Reece of the County & State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of sixty five dollars to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these present the said H. D. Thurmond hath this day bargained and sold to the said William J. Reece a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Sumner & State aforesaid on the Waters of Bledsoe's Creek containing forty acres, more or less, and bounded as follows to wit: beginning at a White Oak & Hickory, the North East corner of Bartholomew Stovall's survey of 104 acres; running thence East 65 1/4 poles to a Popular & two beech trees; thence South 98 poles to two black locusts and a sugartree; thence West to said Stovall's North East corner of his tract of 40 acres at 21 1/4 poles in all 65 1/4 poles to his North West corner, in the East boundary line of his tract of 104 acres; thence South with the same 98 poles to the beginning. The same being a tract or parcel of land that Bartholomew Stovall entered the 27th day of March 1823. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with the appurtenances to the William J. Reece, his heirs, and assigns forever and the said H. D. Thurmond by these present, covenant and agrees that he will forever warrant and defend the title of the aforesaid tract of land with it's appurtenance to the said William J. Reece, his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of all my persons whatever. In witness whereof  I have hereunto set my hand and  affixed my seal the day and date when written. H. D.
