Joseph Harper To Samuel Harper, Sr., 1811

This Indenture made this sixth day of February eighteen hundred & eleven between Joseph Harper of Warren County in North Carolina on the one part and Samuel Harper, Sr. of the other part witnesseth that the said Joseph Harper for & in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge himself therewith fully conveyed & confirmed & by these presents doth freely fully & absolutely give grant bargain sell alien convey & confirm unto the said Samuel Harper, Sr. his heirs & assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land situate in the county aforesaid; Beginning at a black gum at the mouth of the deep bottom on the deep branch running South 31 W. 20 poles; thence South 116 poles to a corner a stake; thence South 85 E. 55 poles to a white Oak; thence North 163 E. 80 poles to a corner a stake; thence to the first station containing forty five acres together with the reversion & reversions & remainder & remainders and every part or parcel to the said Land belonging or in anywise appertaining to have and to hold the aforesaid Land & premises to his & their only benefit use & behoof forever and the said Joseph Harper for himself his heirs Executors & Administrators doth covenant promise & agree to & with the said Samuel Harper, Sr. his heirs & assigns that they shall & may at all times have hold use occupy possess & enjoy all the aforesaid granted Land & premises free & clear from all encumbrances and the same will warrant and forever defend against all persons whosoever. The execution of this Deed by Joseph Harper to Samuel Harper, Sr. was proved in open Court by oath of Moses F. Bennett one of the witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded.
