This Indenture made this 19th January 1841 between Edmond Harper of the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee of the one part and Benjamin S. Harper of the said County and State withnesseth that the said Edmond for and in consideration of the sum of Forty Nine Dollars & 50/100 to him the said Edmond paid by the said Benjamin S. Harper the receipt of is hereby acknowledged before the signing of their presents hath this day sold granted and bargained to the said Benjamin S. Harper all his the said Edmond's interest right title and claim to his undivided fourth part of the stock of horses, cows, sheep, and hogs and house hold and kitchen furniture and farming utensils and his fourth part of all the crop that may be on hand at the death of Rebecca Harper and one yoke of oxen and part the above specified property is the property of Rebecca Harper living in the County & State above written all of which was willed with it's increase to her by her husband William Harper during her life and at her death to be divided equally between Samuel W. Harper, Benjamin S. Harper, John Parker (his wife Polly) and the said Edmond Harper being for said property to have and to hold the said one fourth part of all the property above described encumbered with the life Estate of the said Rebecca to him the said Benjamin S. Harper and his heirs forever and he the said Edmond covenants to warrant and defend the title of the said undivided fourth part of said stock, farming tools, and all the above described property encumbered with the life Estate of the said Rebecca against the tittles of all persons whomsoever.
