John Gwin to Moore & McKindree Deed 225 acres of land & 24 poles.

This Indenture made and Entered into this 28th day of January in the year of our Lord Eighteen Hundred and nineteen between Jno. Gwin of the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee of the one part, and Richard Moore and Dudley McKindree of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Gwin for and in Consideration of the sum of Eighteen hundred and Seventy dollars to him in hand paid by the said Richard Moore & Dudley McKindree at and before the sealing and Delivering of these presents the receipt where of is hereby acknowledged & confessed have bargained and sold unto the said Richard Moore & Dudley McKindree and their heirs & a certain tract or parcel of land situated lying and being in Sumner County & State of Tennessee and on the head of a western branch of the west fork of Drake's Creek of Barren river, Beginning at a white oak and gum running south two hundred and thirty seven poles to a hickory James Roney's corner, thence east one hundred and fifty two poles to an oak and ash, John McAdams corner, thence north with McAdams west boundary line two hundred and thrity seven poles to two poast oaks, thence west one hundred and twenty six poles to a stake, thence south six poles to a stake, thence west six poles to a stake, thence north six poles to a stake west twenty poles to the beginnings. Containing two hundred and twenty five acres & twenty four poles be the same more or less to have and hold the above described land and premises with all its appurtenance there unto belonging to them the said Richard Moore and Dudley McKindree and their heirs and assigns forever, and the said John Gwin does hereby bind himself his heirs Exrs. Admrs. & to make good and defend the title of sd. land to them the said Richard Moore & Dudley McKindree & their heirs & forever clear of the just claim or claims of any person or persons whatsoever, In Witness where of the said John Gwin has here unto set his hand and seal the day & date first above written, Signed sealed & delivered in presence of

This deed of bargain and sale between John Gwin of the one part & Richard Moore and Dudley McKindree of the other part for 225 acres & 20 poles of land was duly acknowledged in open Court by the said John Gwin the Bargainor and ordered to be Registered.
