For and in consideration of the sum of ($900.00) Nine Hundred and no/100 dollars, paid and to be paid by J. R. Barbee and wife Dollie Barbee as follows;  Six Hundred Fifty dollars in cash the receipt is hereby acknowledged and by executing one note for one Hundred Fifty dollars due December 25, 1931, and one note for One Hundred dollars due December 25, 1932, said two notes retain a lien on the following described property and in default of payment of the first note when due the remaining unpaid note becomes due and collectable.  Said notes bear interest from date, and payable at annual rests.  We, Alice Garrison, Jessie Summers, Jake Summers, W. V. Garrison, Bernice Garrison, Robert A Garrison and Eslie Garrison have this day bargained and sold, and by these presents do transfer and convey unto the said J. R. and Dollie Barbee their heirs and assigns, a certain tract or parcel of land in Sumner County, State of Tennessee, as follows; Situated in the 15th civil District of aforesaid County and State and described as follows; Beginning on a rock W. E. Harris corner in W. Y. McGlothlin's line; running thence south 86 1/2 degrees east 49-4/5 poles to a rock in the center of the old road; thence north with said road 125 poles to a rock in Harris line; thence south 86 poles to a rock; thence west 10 poles to a rock; thence south 27 1/2 poles to the place of beginning, containing 34 acres more or less.

This being the same property conveyed to S. P. Garrison by R. D. Link and Y. J. Link, on the 9th day of Feby., 1903, and of record in the Register's office of Sumner County, Tennessee in Deed Book 57, page 614 their heirs and assigns, forever.  And we do covenant with the said J. R. and Dollie Barbee that we are lawfully seized and possessed of said land in fee simple, have a good right to convey it, and the same is unincumbered, and we do further covenant and bind ourselves our heirs and representatives, to warrant and forever defend the title to said land to the said J. R. and Dollie Barbee their heirs and assigns, against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever.

State of Tennessee, Sumner County, Personally appeared before me G. W. Keen, a Notary Public in and for said County and State, the within named Alice Garrison (single) Jake Summers and wife Jessie Summers, W. V. Garrison and wife Bernice Garrison, Robert A. Garrison (single) and Eslie Garrison (single) the bargainors with whom I am personally acquainted, and who acknowledged that they executed the annexed instrument for the purposes therein contained.

And Jessie Summers and Bernice Garrison, wives of the said Jake Summers and W. V. Garrison, having personally appeared before me, privately and apart from her husband the said Jessie Summers and Bernice Garrison, acknowledged the execution of the said instrument to have been done by her freely, voluntarily and understandingly, without compulsion or constraint from her said husband, and for the purposes therein expressed.

Stephen Pleasant Garrison was the son of Hampton and Susan Johnson Allen Garrison.  He was born in Sumner Co, TN. 27 Apr 1865 and died 2 Apr 1930.  He married Nancy Virginia Culbreath in Robertson Co., TN on 3 Jun 1891.  Their children were Jessie, William Vernon, Robert Alton, and Stephen Eslie.  Stephen Pleasant Garrison married second to Mary Alice Link, 23 Mar 1912 in Sumner Co.  They had no children.
