This indenture made this 15th day of April 1837 between Eli Northam of the County of Simpson State of Kentucky of the one part and Daniel Dillard of the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee of the other part Witnesseth that the said Northam for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold unto the said David Dillard a certain tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the County of Sumner and State on the waters of Drakes Creek containing one hundred and thirty acres and bounded as follows to wit Beginning on a Hickory between the mouth of Sinking Branch and Stradders old Road Running thence South 150 poles to a Post oak thence west with William Mautry line 59 poles to a Black Jack thence west with said line 28 poles to a Post oak thence west with Solomen Mitchells line 26 poles to a Black oak Ezekiel Marshalls corner thence North 54 poles to a black oak another of Marshalls corner thence west 50 poles to a small Black oak in said Marshall's line thence North 128 poles to a black jack thence East 155 poles to the Beginnings to have and to hold the said Bargained premises with all and singular of its appurtenances unto the said Dillard his heirs etc that he will warrant and forever defend the before described premises with all and every of its appurtenances unto the said Dillard his heirs etc. forever and from all and every person or persons whatever will warrant and forever defend by these presents In testimony whereof the said Northam hath hereunto set his hand and seal the date above mentioned.
