Jane Dismukes Petition for Dower

Be it remembered that the Jury summoned by the Sheriff to assign the Petitioner her Dower in the lands of her dec'd Husband Geo. R. Dismukes dec'd returned into Court then Report to wit The undersigned being unconnected with the parties by affinity or consanguinity, and entirely disinterested having been summoned and duly sworn by the Sheriff of Sumner County as a Jury to allot and set off to Jane Dismukes her Dower out of the real Estate of Geo. R. Dismukes her dec'd husband after having duly considered and fully understood the whole matter do hereby assign to the said Jane Dismukes for her Dower the following described land wit the erections and improvements thereon to wit a tract of land in the County of Sumner on the Waters of Mansker Creek containing 156 acres and

as follows to wit. Beginning at a Beach tree being Peter Rules Beginning corner thence South with Moses Rules line 150 poles to a _____ Oak and Elm Moses Rules South west corner thence West to the corner between widow Willis's and the Garrett tract of land thence West 167 poles to a horn bean tree on the Bank of the Creek thence North 11 poles to the old pre-emption corner thence up said creek to the mouth of Rules branch thence North 62 Degrees, East 11 poles thence North 45 Degrees East 17 poles thence North 30 Degrees West 8 poles thence North 45 degrees East 29 poles thence North 28 Degrees East 14 Poles thence North 37 Degrees East to Peter Rules line thence with the said Peter Rules line to the beginning which in our opinion constitutes one third of the real Estate of the said George R.
