She was the daughter of the late Joe and Betty Roark Creasy and the wife of Mr. James Albert Howell. Survivors includes one step-son, Willie Martin Howell of Westmoreland; five step-daughters, Mrs. Charlie Love of Gallatin, Mars Annie Lois Johns, Mrs. Charles Mayes, both of Westmoreland, Mars. Paul Durham of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Mrs. Lewis Matthews of Bethpage, Tennessee; 12 step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Howell was a member of the Westmoreland First Baptist Church.

Additional Information: (Obit) Jackson - Madison County authorities were holding Ronald Eugene Jordan of Nashville today on murder charges in the brutal stabbing death of a California man.  Jordan who told authorities he is on parole from a second degree murder conviction, was charged Sat with stabbing Leonard Smith 73 times.  Smith's body was found in a pickup truck on an icy bridge during the investigation of a weekend traffic accident, police said.  Jordan was driving Smith's truck when the vehicle was involved in an accident along Interstate 40 near here, TBI Agent Warren Jones said today.  He said Smith had been stabbed at least 73 times in the head, chest and side.  Jordan who was being held here in lieu of bond, sustained minor injuries when the vehicle wrecked.  Jordan faces a Feb 10 preliminary hearing in Madison County General Sessions Court, Jones said.  According to a complaint sworn out by Jones, Jordan admitted stabbing and cutting Smith with a large pocket knife during an argument.

Mrs. Upton had been hospitalized since February 17th. Services were held at the Alexander Funeral Home Saturday, February 28, 1981 with the Rev. Darrol Latch officiating. Burial was at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Westmoreland. Pallbearers were; Lattie Warren, Dr. Larry Joe Foster, Robert Escue, Frank Kelley, Lloyd Hinton, and Dr. Thomas F. Carter. Mrs. Upton was born in Sumner County, Tennessee, near Oak Grove, December 7, 1915. She was the only child of the late Zilpha Perry Hinton and the late Charles Bishop Hinton. She attended School in Bethpage and graduated from Gallatin High School. She married the late Charles Eugene Upton in 1945. She was an active member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and an active civic worker. She is survived by her only child, Steve Upton, of Westmoreland, and two grandchildren. Other survivors include a brother-in-law, Burbon Upton, and two sisters-in-laws, Reba Foster and Louise Wagner.

Additional Information: (Obit) The body of Will T. Farley, 39, Route 3, Bethpage, was found by his father, Tom Farley, at the elder Farley's home in Macon County Sunday, March 8, 1981. The incident was reported to the Macon County Sheriff's Office at 2:52pm and investigated by Jim Hardin, Macon County Deputy Sheriff. Cause of death was a 16 gauge shotgun wound to the left side of the chest. The death has been ruled a suicide by the Macon County Sheriff's Office. The body was transported to the Macon County General Hospital for investigation. Farley's body was later transferred tot he Alexander Funeral Home in Westmoreland for burial at the Fairview Cemetery. The funeral services were held Tuesday, March 10 at 2:00pm at the Fairview Baptist Church with Brother James Lawson officiating. Farley was born in Macon County. He is the son of Tom Farley and the late Minnie Bell Adcock. He is survived by his wife, Nellie Myrtle Farley of Westmoreland. Other survivors include two sons, David T. Farley, Nashville, and William Thomas Farley, Texas; one step-son, Ray D. Cantrel, Westmoreland; two daughters, Debbie Faye Farley, Nashville, and Donna Kay Farley, Griffin, Georgia; two brothers, O.C. Farley, and Melvin Farley of Westmoreland; one step-brother, Will D.
