Susan Gertrude Coppin was born on December 16, 1886 in Prospect, Halifax County, Nova Scotia. She was the last surviving daughter of  David Coppin and Elizabeth McGuire. On Apr 29 1909 she married Patrick J. Power son of Richard Power and Susan O'Donnell of Halifax at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Halifax. Susan and Patrick had four children:

- Mary Ruth b. 19 September 1910 d. 7 December 1998
- Patrick Albert b. 12 February 1912 d. 20 April 1972
- Richard Laurie b. 3 April 1915 d. 16 August 1999
- John M. b. 29 September 1922

Susan Gertrude Power died on September 14, 1961. She was the last living COPPIN daughter at the time of her death, she outlived her sister Elizabeth Doherty by five months. Here is her obituary:

Mrs. Susan Power, widow of Patrick J. Power died Thursday in hospital after a lengthy illness. She is survived by one daughter, Ruth, three sons Bert, Laurie and John all of Halifax. The Funeral will be held from Cruikshanks funeral home for 9 A.M. Mass Saturday in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, internment will be at Holy Cross cemetery.
