The Coppin Family of Nova Scotia originates from one person. James COPPIN was born in 1796 in County Suffolk, England. he came to Nova Scotia sometime before 1820. On 22 April 1824 he married a women by the name of Catherine McPHEE (1798) from Cape Breton. All the Coppins in Nova Scotia to our knowledge descend from these two people. Unfortuneately there are no longer any people in Nova Scotia who bare the surname COPPIN, but their descendents are going strong, though we are a small group of people!
I started researching the COPPIN family about four years ago, and since then have amassed with the help of lots of people quite a bit of material concerning the family in Nova Scotia. This website is presentation of that data, for member of the family to follow, as well a members of the world wide web to see about the family.
