Welcome
Welcome to the Prospect Genealogical Website. The
village of Prospect, located some 22 kilometres outside of Halifax on
the western shore of the Chebucto Peninsula was founded by Irish and
English fishermen in the 1750s. For the past 250 years the families who
settled here have carved out a living amongst the rocky shores and
continue to do so today. This website is dedicated to them and we are
happy to say we are celebrating our seventh anniversary. Since 1999 we
have had well over 100,000 visitors, who have used the information on
this website in their genealogical hunt.
