/Krzywetz (now part of Ostrava-Radvanice
) Birth registry of Petřvald, Šenov, Bartovice, Václavovice and Řepiště, did not produce results finding the birth of Jiří. The records in registers are very unclear, brief, illegible and thus the parents of Jiří need further verification
Note: I was pleased to received a book from the town of Petřvald "Kapitolky z Historie Petřvaldu" by Irena Hajzlerová and it mentions: Rohlova kolonie & V007743 built (1901- 1922) currently destroyed, consisting of 12 houses for coal miners belonging to Hedvika Mine owned by Báňská a hutní společnost Brno. Perhaps named after a land owner and a relative AND Jan Rohel, "
výkazech plateb za vyvázání z robotních povinností, které připadly hraběti Jindřichu Larisch-Monnichovi a zemské pokladně v roce 1850, dokládají jejích dlouhodobou tradici v Petřvaldě" AND Antonín Rohel (1892- ), teacher and Československý legionář

The "tanner" was the craftsman who prepared and converted raw animal hides into leather..". From 1880-1889, Josef and Jana owned č.23/43, ran the business from there and in 1890, they bought from Viktor Novák

Note: From 1907 the č.48 (renumbered from č.27) house was owned by František and Johanna Jana. After his death in 1918, she remarried 2 years later and her new husband Filip Metz moved into the house, helping to raise her 3 young children. They owned the house until Oct 29, 1931, when it was sold to (Místecké spořitelně) for 75000 Kč. In March/April 1932, the house was demolished and currently the lot is empty. For some reason, Filip was never accepted by František's siblings and later, even the children were only close to Johanna's family. At this time 2006, we know nothing about our father's step-father or his Metz family. *Any relation to František Metz
, mentioned in 1930 Řepiště history, as automating the production of bricks or Julius Metz?
