Note: Die Trauner Industrialisierung

Note: Josef's brother Ernst below took care of Joseph & Fritzi when they got to USA, and because of him they lived very well. Larchmont is a well beautiful suburb of NYC on the water. Fritzi spent her life across from the Long Island sound in a nice home with antique Austrian furniture and an amazing glass collection. She had maids, a gardner, a beautiful garden, lots of friends and nurses who loved her. She played bride until she was about 90. Most of Fritzi and her husbands' Glass collection was sent to London for safe keeping with her sister and was not taken by the Germans.. as Hans Freund wanted them to leave sooner. This was a very important glass collection in which all or most was sold at Sotheby's in London in the past few years. It was known as the Fritzi and Josef Mahler Collection
Note: Ernst Mahler 1996 Inductee - Leadership "Ernst Mahler was born in Vienna, Austria, in 1887. Mr. Mahler helped to accelerate the company's use of chemical controls in papermaking and led the firm in the development of many of today's standard paper and pulp products.."

web site OR Wikipedia ".. Gustav Mahler (relative of Fritz Spiegl on Geiringer page) was best known during his own lifetime as one of the leading orchestral and operatic conductors of the day. He has since come to be acknowledged as among the most important late-Romantic composers, although his music was never completely accepted by the musical establishment of Vienna while he was still alive. Mahler composed primarily symphonies and songs; however, his approach to genre often blurred the lines between orchestral Lied, symphony, and symphonic poem.."

Josef establishes a knitting company called "Joseph Mahler", primarily a dye and weaving. In 1887, son Vilém becomes involved and the name is changed to "Joseph Mahler and syn". Later in an 1892 advertising brochure, the name is only "Vilém Mahler". Jul 17, 1895 converted house #45 to a plant . By then, business has long been not only a dyeing workshop with weaving, but is extended to the production fields of processing and treatment of yarn and knitting of cotton and wool in different colors. Logically, increased the number of workers to 60. A year later, entered the trade another son Viktor. The factory has since been called "Továrna na pletené zboží Bratří Mahlerové“.. Vila Bratří Mahlerů as is known was completed Dec 10, 1908"
Note: ".. The beginning of 1930's brought a peak activity of the factory. Machinery reached respectable pieces of 1000 and the company found a job about the same number of people. Company's products Bratří Mahlerové, especially socks and stockings, under the symbols „Bramah“ a „Atlantic“ have become sought after abroad, which in 1932 was offset 60-65% of all manufactured goods. It is worth noting a few significant and distant countries like England, Holland, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Egypt.. 1932 the firm „Továrna na příze ku pletení a pletené zboží Bratří Mahlerové v Německém Brodě“ was renamed to „Bratří Mahlerové akc. spol.“

The Mar 15, 1939 occupation finally forced Hanuš to leave the company. That same year, he left for Holland to prepare the ground for the subsequent arrival of his wife and son Jiří living with his uncle Vilém in Prague. They stayed home because Edith's mother was ill and unfortunately Hanuš failed. He had to leave before the advancing German army and join his brother in USA.. Note: ".. Josef succeeded on the textile industry track, reflected in the patent to the acquisition of color patterns on knitted products administered in the U.S. in 1927 and acquired three years later. Josef in USA gained many contacts, excellent knowledge of English and priceless experience. And these new findings apply most to return home in the operation and implementation of production of knitting machines in my uncle's factory. Joseph became a master of technical issues - the production and introduction of new machines, while the Hanuš was an expert in the field of management and administrative leadership. Josef himself was lionized as a "world expert" because his way overseas. His knowledge of English was also pretty unique and friends in Německý Brod even created an English club, where its members practiced in that language.. Life of Joseph Mahler in Německý Brod - expensive cigarettes, tennis courts, cafes and his own posh villa. He led the textile factory, had money, but could not get rid of his photographic passion.."
