Note: 1933 Frank studied 2 years at a merchant shoe industry school in Germany & was an officer in the Czech Army. In 1937 he worked in New York, representing his father’s company. Note: Gerhard was asked to change his name when he was drafted as a seargent in the British Army. British and Czech citizen, he gave up his Austrian citizenship before World WAR II. Both met while in the British army, he as a private Textile salesman and she as a hat designer in Luton, near London

Note: Friedrich worked for the Bata shoe company starting at age 15 as an apprentice in Zlin, Moravia till retirement for over 40 years. Bata Senior saved his life - sent him to the Congo to open up a Bata Shoe shop. 1938 He left Prague, crossed Germany and waited a week at the Belgium port of Antwerp for the boat to travel to the Belgium Congo..the radio announced that the borders of the Czech Republic/Germany had been taken over by the Gestapo...a week later he wouldn't have made it! When he arrived at the port of Matadi, the Belgians, as allied forces had to put him in custody for 2 months as he had a Reichspass (Third Reich passport) from Austria

Note: Karl arrived as a young man in Vienna and began working as a coal deliverer worker for an Austrian family then…..later he made his way up to become a white collar worker in the stock exchange business and became very successful. Karl had enough money in British & Swiss banks in 1938, he could have saved the whole family...but brothers Otto & Emil did not want to leave their Prague. Karl collected art, stamps and was the owner of Bank & Kommissionshaus, registered in Wien, XIX, Döblingerhauptstraße 56, on Nov 18, 1920. From Juli 1922 Karl Eisenstein founded the "Börsenkommissionsgeschäft" Bankhaus Karl Eisenstein in Wien I, Maria Theresienstr. 18, im Parterre Lokal. Karl and brother Emil both played soccer for teams such as "Deutsche Fussballclub Prag DFC" and Sparta Prag.
