I found it was a Rolling Pin.  The information by the rolling pin said:
"Rolling Pin contributed by Cora Probart Park of the Sacajawea Camp, Bonneville County, DUP.  Made by her grandfather, Shepherd Pierce Hutchings, carpenter and cabinet maker of early Utah Pioneers.  Assisted in building early Utah homes and made furniture for Brigham Young.
Shepherd Pierce Hutchings, born 29 Nov 1818, Norwalk, Huron County, Ohio.  Early convert to the Church and knew the Prophet Joseph Smith.
Crossed the plains with Captain Richards Co.  arrived Salt Lake Oct 1849.
Settled in Springville.  Polygamist, whose 2nd wife was Eliza Ann Pectol, grandmother to Cora Park.
Cora's parents, Edward Leroy Probart and Arletta Hutchings married 5 Sept 1870.  Received the rolling pin from the father as a wedding gift." from Patricia Sonntag 6-2003

β€œIn Memory of Shepherd P. Son of Elias and Sally Hutchings, born Nov 29, 1819 Norwalk, Huron Country Ohio.  Died Jul 23, 1895.  Aged 76 years 7 months and 24 days.
Our Father is not dead but lives. His happy spirit flies to heaven above and there receives the long expected prize.

History: In March 1831, he was bapt in the Church of J. C. of L. DS. Past through the trials and seens of Ohio, Illinois and Missouri.  Emigrated to Utah in 1849. Held the calling of a Seventy.  Performed three missions. Was father of 33 children, grandfather of 87.  Past to the other side true to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Wife: Eliza Ann Pectal, born Nov 18, 1832, died Oct 25 1911.”
