BRAND, LAWRENCE EDWARD
Funeral services for Lawrence Edward Brand, 83, of Winnsboro were held Tuesday at Coax
Baptist Church with the Rev. J. W. Allen and the Rev. Doyle Adams officiating.
Interment followed in Coax Cemetery under the direction of Riser First National Funeral
Home of Winnsboro.
Mr. Brand died Saturday, March 11, 2000 at Franklin Medical Center. He was a deacon
of Coax Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Audry Mae Brand of Winnsboro, two sons and
daughters-in-law, John Edward Brand and wife Dixie of McComb, Mississippi; Douglas Brand
and wife Alice of Winnsboro; two granddaughters, Dawn Brand Archibald and husband Steve of
Baton Rouge; Wendy Brand Spitchley and husband Christopher of McCombs,1 [sic]
Mississippi; three grandchildren, Daphyne and James Michel Parker, Christina Spitchley;
and sister, Opal Brand Jones of Winnsboro.
Pallbearers were J.E. Emfinger, Bobby Gwin, Shorty Shirley, Dale Beavers, Mike Curtis and
Ricky Johnson. Honoary2

and Terrel Ratcliff.

BALL, OBA1 (sic)
WINNSBORO - Funeral services for Mrs. Oba Williamson Ball, 78, of Winnsboro, will
be at 2 p.m. today at the Coax Baptist Church near here with the Revs. J. W. Allen and
Denver Smith officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of First National Funeral
Home here.
Mrs. Ball died Monday at St. Francis Hospital in Monroe following a long illness.
The body will remain at the home of L. E. Brand near here until 1 p.m. when it will be
taken to the church for services.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Audrey Mae Brand of Winnsboro, one brother, C. W.
Williamson of Oak Grove; one sister, Mrs. Ella Brown of Bossier City, and two
grandchildren.

MAY, RUBY JESSE PRINE
Quietly and peacefully she drew her last breath and passed from
her life on earth onto her reward after a wonderful life of 93 years.
Wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother,
Mrs. May was loved, adored and cherished by those whose lives were touched
and molded by her hands, words and deeds.
Born in Simpson County, Miss., Oct. 9, 1909, she came to Pascagoula, Miss.,
in 1952 with her husband, Bowers Lewis May, and her four sons, Teti, Red,
Marion, and Pete. Here she remained to raise and watch her family grow and
assume her position as matriarch of the family.
Mrs. May was of the Methodist faith and lived life according to her belief
in God and exercising her strength in knowing that there was meaning to
everything in her life. She passed her strength and will through her deeds
and loving smile to everyone she touched.
Ruby May was preceded in death by her husband, Bowers Lewis May, her son,
Jesse W. "Teti" May of Pascagoula, Miss., son Paul J. "Red" May of Jennings,
La., son Bobby Marion May of Biloxi, Miss. She is survived by her son,
Henry L. "Pete" May, and his wife, Joann May, of Vancleave, Miss., three
daughters-in-law, Betty May Cormier of Jennings, La., Tatae Deety May of
Biloxi, Miss., and Provie S. May of Pascagoula, Miss., 13 grandchildren who
loved and adored her; 22 great grandchildren, six great great
grandchildren; several step great great grandchildren; and a many nieces,
nephews and a host of whom she considered "dear dear friends".
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 3, 2003, at 1:30 p.m.
from the chapel of Holder-Wells Funeral Home with a two-hour visitation
prior to service time. Interment will be in Machpelah Cemetery.

SUSAN L. PRINE
LAUREL - Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at Highland Baptist Church
in Laurel for Susan Leigh Prine, 31, of Laurel, who died Feb. 13, 2003, at
South Central Regional Medical Center.
Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Laurel.
Mrs. Prine was a counselor with Jones County Youth Court and a member of
Highland Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Cliff Prine of Laurel; her mother, Diana
Simpson of Laurel; a daughter, Payton Prine of Laurel; a sister, Cindy
Gatlin of Heidelberg; and a brother, Kip Simpson of Soso.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Saturday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in
Laurel.

DRUMMONDS, VERONA
Mrs. Verona Drummonds, 76, of Mendenhall died Aug. 21 at Simpson General Hospital.
She was a native of Simpson County.
Services were conducted at 11 a.m. Aug. 23 from Upton
Chapel with Rev. Harold Floyd officiating. Interment was in Macedonia Cemetery with
Upton Funeral Home of Mendenhall in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Mary Ann May of
Mendenhall; a brother, William G. Hayes, Jr. of Byrum; a niece; and two nephews.

Funeral Services For Mrs. Williamson
Funeral Services were conducted for Mrs. Laura Jean Prine Williamson
Wednesday, Oct. 22, from the Weathersby Baptist Church with Rev. R. C. Bounds, of
Weathersby, Rev. Gaston Brown, Jr. and Rev. Delertie Brown of Dossier (sic) City1,
La., officiating. Interment was in the Macedonia Cemetery.
Mrs. Williamson died on Monday, October 29. She was born Jun 11, 1890 in Simpson
County and was the daughter of the late W. Marion Prine, Sr. She had made her home
in Olla, La. for the past several years and was a member of the Penecostal2
(sic)
Church.
She is survived by her husband, Hamp Williamson; two daughters, Mrs. R. S. Starling and
Mrs. A. O. Wilson of St.3
(sic) Angelo, Texas; six brothers; six sisters; and five
grandsons.

A. O. Wilson, 58, died Sunday at 6 a.m. in an Alexandria hospital. He was a resident
of 504 Chandler Drive, Pineville.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha M. [Delrie-Williamson]
Wilson of Pineville; four sons, H. E. Delrie, J. R. Delrie, W. M. Delrie and R. W. Delrie,
all of Pineville; one sister, Mrs. Arvenia Dossett of Jackson, Miss. and seven
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today in the Pine
Hill Baptist church near Olla. Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction
of First National Funeral Home of Alexandria.

DELRIE, WILLIAM
Services for William "Bill" Delrie will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the chapel of
Hixson Bros., Pineville, with the Rev. Michael Hedrick officiating. Burial will be
in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Pineville.
Delrie, 60, of Pineville died Friday, March 12, 1999, in St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.
He was a member of Church of Christ, a U.S. Army veteran and a electrical1
technician for
Federal Aviation Administration.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Jeansonne Delrie of Pineville; one son, Darren Delrie
of Pineville; one2
brother John Robert Delrie of Montgomery, Ala.; and one grandchild.

ERNEST DANIEL
Ernest Daniel Prine, 83, of LuRand, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at
Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Church of God in Sumner
with the Rev. Linnie Maples officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens
Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the church.
Nowell Funeral Home of Clarksdale is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Prine, a retired Air Force staff sergeant, was born April 23, 1921, in
Alabama. He was a member of the Church of God in Sumner.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Jean Prine of LuRand; two daughters,
Kathie P. Morris of LuRand and Roxanne P. Campbell of Amory; a brother, Troy
Prine of Mobile, Ala.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
