DAVIS was married on June 26, 1848, Clarksburg, Harrison, WV, aged 23; Matthias Cowell was bondsman; Born: April 3, 1825, VA; Died: April 9, 1895, age: 70; Buried: Carder Cemetery, Petroleum, Ritchie, WV; Baptist; Occupation: Farmer; (Reference: Harrison County, WV Marriages 1785-1894 by Wes Cochran. Daniel's last name was transcribed, in this book, as Davison but actual marriage bonds revealed that the minister had the run the "Davis an Elizabeth Cowell" together and therefore the clerical error. He is a Davis. The original marriage bond is in the Harrison Co., WV courthouse. The bond is in Harrison Marriage Bond Book 7, page 195, date 26 Jun1848. The marriage record is in Harrison Marriage Record Book 4, page 3, he is indexed under Daniel M. Davis and Elizabeth Conell.)
