They res. Stafford until after Rev., but were in Tolland, Conn. for 1790 census. Migrated to Schoharie Co., N.Y. 1793; Res. Providence, Saratoga Co., N.Y. 1800; Hadley, Saratoga Co., 1818-1820 where he submitted the paper for his rev. pension and where Abigail probably died shortly after 1820 census. as aged widower he lived with oldest daughter Sarah (Blodgett) Torrey in Knox, Albany Co., N.Y. where he died at age 92. son-in-law, Amos Torrey was admtr. of his estate. He buried Torrey plot, Knox rural Cemetery, DAR marker.
Of Silas' 6 sons, the youngest, Aaron, was the only one who lived to marry and have children who carried on the Blodgett name.
He was in the first battle of the Revolution and the last. for a time, he commanded under Gen. Lafayette. At Yorktown, Va., he was under Gen. Washington.
