Moses Rowley the Third, was born to Moses and Mary (Fletcher) Rowley
about

1679 in Barnstable, Massachusetts. At age 8-9, he would have traveled
with

his grandfather and father to the newly forming township of East Haddam,

Connecticut. There, Moses married Martha Porter (1687-1725/9), a
daughter of

John and Joanna (Gaylord) Porter of Windsor Connecticut:

Moses Rowley, Jr. and Martha Porter were joined in marriage September
7th Day Anno Domini 1707. Apparently, Moses and Martha (Porter) Rowley
lived in Colchester, New London County, the neighboring township to the
north, before settling in East Haddam. Colchester was removed from the
Connecticut River, and primarily an agricultural township, while East
Haddam had river trade. Moses and Martha had eight children, six born in
Colchester (1708-1720), and two born in East Haddam (1723-1725). All of
his children's births are all listed in the East Haddam vital records,
indicating it was his more permanent settlement. Moses Rowley moved
with several Rowley families from East Haddam to Sharon, Connecticut in
1740, then Moses moved to the Oblong (New York) and Kent (Connecticut)
area around 1743, following a cousin John Rowley who had moved to Kent
around 1747. In 1771 Moses was declared senile in Kent, and selectmen
found him "unable to oversee his affairs" so they appointed Abraham
Fuller to oversee his affairs.

He was educated A1. He was William, Irene's DL. The only son of the family, he received a quality education. He traveled
with his parents as a child to Genessee New York, where he reached
manhood. He married and had two children while still in New York. By the
year 1837 Myron and first family traveled down the Ohio River to
Cincinnati where Myron could study medicine at a medical college. (In
the medical register he signed later in life, he doesn't claim any
formal medical degree.) He lived in Cincinnati with his wife and two
children for the 1840 census. Shortly afterwards they joined the Alter
family in the frontier stage-couch town, Greenfield Indiana. The pioneer
doctors in this new region traveled on horseback long distances in the
roughest terrain to make house calls. In this manner, Myron practiced
medicine from 1841 to 1845. He might have been an apprentice to his
brother-in-law Simon Alter, who was one of the first listed doctors of
Greenfield. After Merinos father died in 1842, Myron brought his wife
and children to Millerstown, PA, to be near his mother and sisters in
Freeport. He purchased a small corner of a farm in East Deer Township in
1852, the earliest deed on record that Love found for him. Myron began a
medical practice out of Millerstown in a stone room that was halfway
carved into a cliff. The town was little more than a cross-roads of two
dirt lanes and a handful of houses, Merinos office was three buildings
south of the cross roads. There Myron continued practice as a country
doctor for 63 years. He was a founding member of the Methodist Church of
Millerstown, which was organized and constructed of handmade bricks in
1853. Myron was listed as one of the church's founding members, as
early as 1855. Myron lived and practiced in Millerstown into his 90s.
