There is missinformation about Doric's ancestors in several biographies of him.

1) His Great Grandfather, Nehemiah Porter, was a Presbyterian minister. Actually, Nehemiah was a Congregational minister.
2) The Porter family is of Scotch origin. Clearly, Porter is English.
3) His father's name was Asa. Of course, his father's name was really Nathan.
