He married Harriet Caldonia "Callie" Emery in Cherokee Co., Georgia, November 7, 1881. Harriet was born 1861. Harriet was the daughter of Eveline O'Shields.

David E. Popham and Harriet Caldonia "Callie" Emery had the following children:

8 i. James W.⁴ Popham was born in Cherokee Co., Georgia January 1882. He married Lizzie Caldwell.

9 ii. Mary M. "Babe" Popham was born in Cherokee Co., Georgia May 1885. She married Floyd Blackwell. (See Floyd Blackwell for the continuation of this line.)

10 iii. Dona "Donnie" Popham was born in Cherokee Co., Georgia May 1887. She married Joe Blackwell.

11 iv. Lucinda E. Popham was born in Cherokee Co., Georgia October 18, 1890. Lucinda died July 23, 1973 in Cherokee Co., Georgia, at 82 years of age. Her body was interred August 1, 1973 in Cherokee Co., Georgia. She married Willie Cook Mcdougal in Cherokee Co., Georgia. Willie was born in Georgia March 28, 1888. Willie was the son of -Unknown- Mcdougal. Willie died October 21, 1944 in Georgia, at 56 years of age. His body was interred November 1, 1944 in Cherokee Co., Georgia.
