Delia A. DAVIS

She was 5 in 1880. The 1900 census says she is the mother of 3 children and all three are still living. She also says that her father was born in Ohio and her mother in Illinois.

When she married James Wise she said that it was her second marriage. They were married at her fathers house in Texas City.


Molley WISE

In 1910 she was a cashier at the picture show.


John William LINDLE

He was 35 years old when he married Flo. He worked for the railroad and was
from Poplar Bluff, Missouri.


Florrence Mana DAVIS

She was 9 in 1880.

CENSUS RECORDS: 1 June 1900 Cairo, Alexander, Illinois film #1243370, they lived on 21st Street and he says he has been married for 16 years and works for the railroad and they are renting a house.

When he married Hardinia he said that this was his second marriage.

She was 13 in 1880 attending school. The 1900 census says she is the mother of 4 children but only 3 are still living. She also says that her father was born in Ohio and her mother in Illinois.

She was 62 in 1910 and said she was the mother of 2 children and both were still living.

She was 73 in 1920 and says both her parents were born in Illinois.

She was 84 in 1930, widowed, living with her daughter Victoria and son-in-law Joshua Joyner in Stonefort, Saline, Illinois.

NOTES: According to Arlie Boswell of Harrisburg, Illinois she came from a family that owned a large tract of land in northern Saline County, in a community known as Texas City. She was living with an older sister in Union County, Illinois when she met and married Levi C. Penninger. She was about 13 and he was about 17 years old and he was a soldier recuperating from a wound received at the Battle of Vicksburg during the Civil War. If he had been wounded at Vicksburg he would have been 19 and she would have been 16. Vicksburg was in 1863.

Witness: James H. Rearse, county clerk and the seal of said county at his office in Harrisburg in said county, this 25th day of March A.D. 1892, State of Illinois, Saline County
I, Bryant D. Grace, Justice of the Peace hereby certify that Mr. Lyman W. Wilcox and Mrs. Elizabeth Marshall were united in marriage by me at Stonefort in the county of Saline and State of Illinois on the 27th day of March A.D. 1892

NOTES: When she remarried in 1892 it said she was living in Stonefort, Saline, Illinois and was 40 years old and this was her 2nd marriage. Elizabeth and Lyman moved to Michigan sometime around 1905 or so. Apparently none of her Marshall children went with her according to a descendant of Lyman's. Elizabeth died sometime after 1918 but probably before 1925 as a grandson of Lyman's who was born in 1922 can remember seeing Lyman but not Elizabeth.

CENSUS: According to census records in 1910 Lyman says he has been married for 19 years but his wife is not with him. Then in 1920 he says he is divorced.
