MARRIAGE RECORDS: Arkansas Marriages 1851-1900, SLFHL Film #1288645, page #400
M. Annis HUDDLESTON, age 20, to Charles COX age 38, on 14 March 1858 in Independence County, Arkansas, by James E. GRISHAM a Justice of the Peace. (I looked at the original and on the side it looks like Mrs. Annis Huddleston, but on the license it looks like M. Annis Huddleston. I also found on www.FamilySearch.org where someone had sent in this exact marriage date in 1996 as Mahala Annis Mitchell to Charles Cox. I have called and left a message on his phone but so far I have not heard back from him yet.)

She was 22 in 1860, apparently widowed, listed as Mahala COX living with Charles and Elizabeth MITCHELL.

She was 32 in 1870, apparently widowed, listed as Mahala A. COX living with Charles and Elizabeth MITCHELL.

She was 42 in 1880, apparently widowed, listed as M. A. COX living with Charles MITCHELL.

NOTES: She is never listed with a husband, but all the children are listed with the last name of COX and the boys Jehue, Charles and James, start going by the last name of MITCHELL when they get married. I have not been able to find the two girls after 1870 so they may have gotten married, but I can't find them as COX or MITCHELL as of yet.
