Sarah Ann HAWKS

She was in the under 5 age bracket in 1840.

She was 12 in 1850 which would make her born in 1838 and not in 1830

She was 20 in 1860 which would make her born in 1840 and not in 1830.

She was 34 in 1870 which would make her born in 1836 and not in 1830.

PROBATE RECORDS: In her fathers WILL in 1873, she was left five dollars in money.

She was 39 in 1880 which would make her born in 1841 and not in 1830.

She was 65 in 1900 which would make her born in 1835 and not in 1830. She is widowed and says she is the mother of 9 children and all 9 are still living.

She was 78 in 1910 which would make her born in 1832 and not in 1830. She was living with her son William and she is a widow and says she is the mother of 11 children with 9 still living.

She was 86 in 1920 which would make her born in 1834 and not in 1830. She is living with her son William (but he is listed as Richard J.) on Buttermilk Road in Concord Pct, Christian, Kentucky.

She was 99 in 1930 which would make her born in 1831 and not in 1830. She is living with her son James Crow in Dist #6, Christian County, Kentucky.

NOTES: Sarah Ann Crow lacked just a couple of months of being 107 years old when she died. However, according to census records she would have been born in about 1838 instead which would have only made her almost 99 years of age when she died instead of almost 107 years of age. Her tombstone says she was born in 1830 though. She credited her long life to not drinking hard liquor or dancing all night which she said was something that would have killed her pretty early if she had done those things.

NOTES: According to her grandson John O. Hill of Hopkinsville, Kentucky who I talked to 1 Feb 1987, he said that she was about 1/4 Indian. Her family was from Virginia when her grandfather came to Tennessee he married an Indian lady possibly Cherokee, she may or may not have been full blooded.

Robert CROW

He was 4 in 1870.
