Daniel FLANARY

NOTES: On 18 Aug 1787, he was granted 320 acres on the Red River for services to officers and soldiers of the Continental Line. He sued his brother-in-law John Montgomery in 1784 in Davidson County, North Carolina. Daniel obtained land in Livingston County, Kentucky in 1803 and was listed there in the 1810 census. He sold his Illinois Territory land in 1812. He sold more land in 1814. His Livingston County, Kentucky Will was signed 4 Feb 1820. Daniel FLANNERY, very weak in body but of perfect mind and memory. Recommend soul into the hand of almighty God and body to the earth to be buried in a decent Christiani burial. To beloved wife Patsy, plantation whereon I now live with all the woodland belonging to the survey during her life or widowhood and then to son Thomas FLANNERY. To wife Patsy, negro woman Lucy and increase, slave boy Hiram, slave boy Joel, slave girl Maria during Patsy's life or widowhood and then to daugher Rebecca Eliza. The yet unborn infant, should wife be pregnant, to be equal. To wife Patsy, all household and kitchen furniture (except one feather bed and furniture), young black horse and bay horse, all cattle, sheep, hogs, geese, etc. To beloved son Thomas FLANNERY, one feather bed and furniture and wearing clothes. To beloved daughter Mary Elizabeth, five dollars only as I have given Abel TEAGUE 200 acres of land to support her as she is insane. Old black horse and roan mare and waggon to be sold by executor and the money put out at interest and money goes to beloved daughter Rebecca Eliza. If Rebecca Eliza dies without issue, above mentioned Lucy and increase, Hiram, Joel, and Maria shall revolve to son Thomas. Above mentioned people of color to be set free when my youngest child comes of age. Appoint son Thomas FLANNERY executor. NOTES: Her brother, John Montgomery, was a Colonel under George Rogers Clark and was military Governor of the Illinois Territory.


Mary Elizabeth FLANARY

She was insane according to her father's Will and her father had given Abel Teague 200 acres of land so that he would take care of Mary Elizabeth.
