HISTORY: Robert is reported to have fought in the Mormon Wars, but he would have been very young at the time. He is known to have fought in the Mexican War and also served as an officer in the 5th Missouri Volunteers in the Confederate Army during the Civil War.

NOTES: He was one of the executors on the Will of William THORNTON who died in 1872 in Ray County, Missouri. William THORNTON was the granduncle of his wife Mary Jane ADAMS.
